Country rock songstress and Tullahoma, Tennessee native Laura McCormick adds a benchmark in her career with the release of her highly anticipated debut single, Feel the Fire. This track, which showcases McCormick’s powerfully seductive set of pipes, southern rock influences, and fearless attitude, is available today on iTunes.
With influences ranging from Reba McEntire to Tom Petty, Feel the Fire provides country music with the dose of feminine edge that it has been craving.
“This song has always had a special little place in my heart ever since the day we wrote it, so when it came time to choose a single the answer was obvious to me,” remarked Laura. “I’m just overwhelmed with joy and contentment that I get to make music and share it with the world!”
With this single also comes the release of Laura’s debut music video, airing exclusively on her YouTube page and website. The video, shot by Good People Studios’ videographers Josh Harrell and Yuri Figueroa, will also be released to ZUUS Country, GAC and CMT. “I was wearing leather pants and heels dancing around in a field, and was completely surrounded by huge barrels of fire… the videographers did a phenomenal job getting exceptional shots and it all came together perfectly.”
McCormick co-wrote Feel the Fire with industry veteran Frank Schofield and the powerfully-penned song is a track off of McCormick’s debut album which is set to release early this fall. Going from band-aids to band rehearsals, Laura has seamlessly made the transition to a full-time singer-songwriter after passionately serving as an ICU nurse for the past 6 years. With a family tree of ancestors who played fiddle, steel guitar and banjo for country greats, there’s no denying Laura’s ability to pen a memorable tune and deliver a great performance. One thing is for sure, Laura truly has crafted up a refreshingly genuine slant of country rock and is ready to take the music industry by storm.
